Topps: More Than Just Cards
Memories in Every Pack
There is something about opening a pack of Topps cards that always takes me back. The sound of the wrapper, the smell of the cards and the excitement of not knowing what I might find remind me of being a kid again. I remember sitting on the floor, sorting cards into different teams, trading with friends and hoping to find one of my favourite players.
When I finally pulled a card of a player I loved, it felt like I had found gold. It might not have been the rarest or most valuable card, but that did not matter to me. It represented my love for the game and the excitement I felt at that point in my life.
Keeping That Feeling Alive
Even now, opening a pack brings back the same feeling. The designs have changed and there are more special cards, autographs and limited editions, but the excitement is still there. Collections such as Match Attax and Topps Now remind me of players I admired and games I remember watching.
That is what makes Topps special to me. It has grown and changed over time without losing the feeling that made collecting enjoyable in the first place. I do not love it only because of a card’s rarity or value. I love it because every card can hold a story or bring back a memory. It reminds me why I became interested in football and collecting, and that is something I do not think I will ever grow out of.
